Head Coach Patrick Rowan
Patrick was born and raised in Lincoln. He swam club for 10 years where he was a 7x Junior National qualifier. As a prep swimmer at Lincoln Southeast, Patrick was a 2x state champion and team captain. He swam collegiately at Eastern Michigan where he was a 12x finalist at his conference championships.
Upon earning his Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, Patrick returned home to begin his coaching career at Nebraska Aquatics. While there, he had multiple Junior National qualifiers and many athletes who earned college swimming scholarships. Patrick was named Midwestern Swimming Coach of the Year in 2006-07, after being named its Age Group Coach of the Year in 2004-05.
After 7 years as a head club coach, Patrick entered the college arena as an assistant for the University of Missouri men’s and women’s swim teams. He served as the power sprints coach while also working with the middle distance group. Patrick helped the Tiger women’s team finish as high as 14th at the NCAA Championships. He also continued his academic career, earning his Master’s Degree in Sports Psychology.
Patrick returned home in 2012 as the University of Nebraska’s Associate Head Coach. During his tenure at Nebraska, he has helped the team rise steadily in the nation placing 26th at the NCAA Championships in 2021. Patrick also coached Nebraska’s first Big 10 Champion in that year. He has coached multiple All-Americans as well as dozens of National Championship qualifiers, Olympic Trials qualifiers and an Olympic Games qualifier.
In addition to his collegiate coaching duties, Patrick now serves as the owner and Head Coach of Club Husker. He works primarily with the Red and Black groups. Patrick is known for his expertise in stroke technique and he is excited to bring his knowledge and experience to Club Husker athletes.
Assistant Coach Miranda Rowan
Miranda was born and raised in Omaha. She swam for Millard Aquatic Club (MAC) for 10 years and competed for Millard North High School. A butterfly and backstroke specialist, Miranda was a 4x Nebraska High School State Champion and a state record holder in the 100 butterfly. She continued her swimming career at Arizona State where she was a 5x All-American and school record holder. Miranda qualified for both the 2000 and 2004 Olympic Trials meets. After earning her Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Miranda came home to coach for MAC and Millard West High School. While there, she helped guide several state champions and Junior National qualifiers. She later served as an assistant coach for Nebraska Aquatics where she worked with the beginner groups.
Miranda is married to Head Coach, Patrick Rowan, and together they have 3 swimmers: Reese (14), Quinn (12), and Luke (9). She has extensive experience teaching swim lessons and taught all 3 of her kids to swim. Coach Miranda helps bring that “mom vibe” to the white group where she primarily works with our beginner swimmers. Her favorite part of coaching is getting to know the swimmers individually and having fun with them!
