Noblesville Learn to Swim Class Levels:
Level 1:
This level will provide adjustment to the water. This is an introduction to water, swimming, and pools. We will work on being comfortable with faces in the water and blowing bubbles.
Level 2:
This level will provide relaxed body position in the water. This is an introduction to floating, both front and back. We will continue to work on comfortability with faces in the water and blowing bubbles.
Level 3:
This level will begin to use controlled kicking and forward movement. This is an introduction to kicking unassisted on front and back.
Level 4:
This level will begin to use freestyle arms and backstroke sculling. This is an introduction to further movement with freestyle and changing directions in the water.
Level 5:
This level will expand the use of freestyle with breathing to the side. This is an introduction to backstroke with arms and working on skills to obtain objects from the bottom of the pool safely.
Level 6:
This level will work to achieve a full 25 yards of freestyle (with good rotary breathing) and a full 25 yards of backstroke. This is an introduction to deep water jumping, treading water, and ability to swim to the side in deep water.
Level 7:
This level will work on swimming a 50 yard freestyle, a 50 yard backstroke, learning breaststroke kick and a summersault in the water (flip turn). We will continue to work on deep water treading water.
Level 8:
This level will work to swim 100 yards of freestyle, 100 yards of backstroke, and will work to develop breaststroke (arms and legs). We will introduce butterfly kick, flip turns, and safe swim diving entry.
Level 9:
This level will work on longer distances of freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly (both arms and legs). We will continue to work on swim starts/diving and flip turns for freestyle and backstroke.
Level 10:
This is our final level of achievement where the swimmer will work to swim 200 yards of freestyle, 200 yards of backstroke, 100 yards of breaststroke, 25 yards of butterfly, flip turns, treading water safely in deep water, and swim dives.
