NSC Swim Strong Campaign
Newington Swim Club offers the Swim Strong Campaign to help families in need. NSC offers Scholarships in town through Newington Human Services Department and Newington Parks and Rec to help pay for swim lessons or swim clinics.
NSC also offers support to swim team athletes in need based on the CT Swimming Athlete Outreach qualifications. The following programs can be used to determine eligibility for financial assistance:

WIC Program (Women, Infant and Children Federal Nutrition Program)

Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (previously AFDC)

Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP)

Medicaid Medical Card

Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP)

Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI)

Supplemental Security Income (SSI)

Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) l. Emergency Assistance

Letters certifying that the athlete is a recipient of one of the above requirements will be accepted. The team reserves the right to request further documentation if necessary.
If the athlete does not utilize one of those programs then we may work with Newington Human Services to help determine the level of need.
Funds available for assistance are based on fundraising efforts.
