Deschutes Mat Club offers training and practice groups for wrestlers of all ages and ability levels. It is the goal of DMC to offer age specific training for all of our athletes geared towards challenging each individual and developing each individual to the best of THEIR abilities. At DMC, athletes are placed into training groups called Squads based on their grade level and skill development. Our Squads are designed to reflect our core values of hard work, growth, and team pride — all while aligning with our club colors: White, Red, and Black.

White Squad — Kindergarten to 2nd Grade

The White Squad is where young athletes begin their wrestling journey. Focused on building strong foundations in movement, technique, and sportsmanship, this squad emphasizes fundamentals, fun, and developing a love for the sport.

White Squad - Registration fee of $500 (full season) or $350 (partial season) + (credit card transaction fees) plus $65 USA Wrestling Card. Parents will go online to https://www.usawmembership.com/login to create a USA account and then purchase the USA membership card. You must have a current USA membership card before you can practice. 

Full season Oct. 6th through OWA State (est Jan 31) or Partial season Oct. 6th through Cowboy Challenge (est Dec 13) 

(Oct-Dec) Practices are Monday at Mt. View H.S. and Tuesday & Thursday at Caldera H.S. - 6:15 to 7:30 pm.  

(Jan) Practices are Tuesday, Wednesday, & Thursday at TBD - 6:15 to 7:30pm.

Red Squad — 3rd to 5th Grade

The Red Squad continues the wrestler's development with an increased focus on technique, strength, and competition. Wrestlers in this group begin sharpening their skills, building resilience, and preparing for a more competitive environment.

 Black Squad — 6th to 8th Grade

The Black Squad is designed for our most experienced youth wrestlers. This squad focuses on advanced techniques, conditioning, mental toughness, and competition readiness. Athletes here are preparing for high-level youth and middle school wrestling success.
