Chouloute, Genz Lead BRST at Friday Night at the Races
Mayah Chouloute and Cassandra Genz came up big for Boca Raton Swim Team during the Friday Night at the Races Developmental Invitational at the Lake Lytal Family Aquatic Complex.
Mayah Chouloute (9-10) was 1st in the 50 Freestlye with a new Junior Olympic cut!! Mayah was also 1st in the 100 Individual Medley and 3rd in the 100 Freestyle and 50 Backstroke. Cassandra Genz (11-12) placed 2nd in the 100 Individual Medley and 3rd in the 50 Backstroke and Butterfly.
"This was a great kick off meet for us," Coach Katie Zientarski said. "We had a lot of great swims and were able to evaluate what we need to work on. The swimmers had fun which is most important!."
Of the 47 swimmers representing BRST, 9 of them were swimming in their first ever meet. Kathleen Calvante, Aidan Chiodo, Declan Chiodo, Teagan Chiodo, Alvaro Fraga, Benji Green, Caleb Koonin, Tamer Purliyev and Layna Twiss. "Friday Night at the Races is a great intrduction to competitive swimming," Coach Vanessa Bonebrake said. "Our new swimmers did really well and they can't wait for the next meet!."
More great swims were had by Lauren Meyer (9-10) placing 3rd in the 50 Butterfly and dropping 5 seconds. Dante Scavo (9-10) placed 3rd in the 50 Freestyle, 100 Backstroke and 100 Individual Medley. Jack Morrison (9-10) was 4th in the 50 Breastroke, Nik Galkina (11-12) was 2nd in the 50 Breastroke and Polina Galkina, Meri Potts and Mia Mascuch (9-10) all had best times in the 50 Freestyle.
