Summer Meet Recap: Division II
Div 2 Recap:
Congratulations to all the PST swimmers who competed in the Division II Championships July 11-13 at Florida Atlantic University. PST swimmers did not disappoint, as multiple swimmers achieved their Junior Olympic time standards, while many others accomplished career best times.
Laryssa Bedley dropped 12 seconds in her 100 Breast and was 6 out of 7 in the best time category. Sophia Oliva achieved two new JO cuts in the 100/200 Free, dropping nearly 15 seconds in the 200. Alejandra Cardozo dipped under the JO standard in 5 events (50 Back, 100 Fly, 50 Free, 200 IM and 100 Free) and captured first place in the 50 back, 100 Fly and 100 Free. Alejandra was also named 12& Under Division II Swimmer of the Month.
On the 13& Over side, Sergio Jacas went faster than the JO standard in the 100 Back and was 7 for 7 in the best times category, including a 10 second drop in the 200 Back and 17 second drop in the 400 IM. Sergio was named 13& Over Division II Swimmer of the Month. Matthew Diamond dropped almost 11 seconds in his 200 IM, while Joshua Sherman achieved his first JO cut in the 50 Free. Veronica Riviere dropped over 10 seconds in her 400 IM and won the 1500 Free in her first time swimming the event.
