The winter championship season is rapidly approaching. Questions are surfacing regarding the legality of some swimwear under Rule 3-3-1. This memo is providing an NFHS interpretation regarding a manufacturer’s logo, which also includes the name of the suit model, being placed on a suit.

A swimsuit with the name of the manufacturer and the model name of the suit incorporated directly above or below the manufacturer’s name and a total mark not exceeding 2¼ square inches and not exceeding 2½ inches in any dimension, is considered legal, providing all other uniform requirements are met. This design of the manufacturer’s logo is not considered two separate logos.

The two illustrations below are only samples of the logo design described. These are LEGAL manufacturer’s logos.
