2025-26 PARENT CODE OF CONDUCT

The Bolles School Sharks

1. I will set the right example for our children by demonstrating sportsmanship and always showing respect and common courtesy to the team members, coaches, competitors, officials, parents, and all facilities.

2. I will get involved by volunteering, observing practices, cheering at meets, and talking with my child and their coach about their progress.

3. I will refrain from coaching my child from the stands during practice and meets.

4. I will understand that criticizing, name calling, use of abusive language or gestures directed toward coaches, officials, officials, volunteers, and/or any participating swimmer will not be tolerated.

 5. I will respect the integrity of the officials.

6. I will direct my concerns first to my child’s Lead Coach; then if not satisfied, to the appropriate supervisor/head coach.

7. Parents who exhibit sexist, racist, homophobic, or otherwise inappropriate behavior will be faced with consequences. I will:

• Practice teamwork with all parents, swimmers, and coaches by supporting the values of Discipline, Loyalty, Commitment and Hard Work.

• Do not coach or instruct the team or any swimmer at practice or meet (from the stands or any other area) or interfere with coaches on pool deck.

• Demonstrate good sportsmanship by conducting oneself in a matter that earns the respect of your child, other swimmers, parents, officials, and the coaches at meets and practices.

• Always maintain self-control. Know your role.

• Criticizing, name-calling, use of abusive language or gestures directed toward coaches, officials, and/or any participating swimmer will not be permitted or tolerated. These expectations apply to all forms of conduct and communication, whether physical, verbal, written, or electronic. Enjoy involvement with the Bolles School Sharks by supporting the swimmers, coaches and other parents with positive communication and actions.

• During competitions, questions or concerns regarding decisions made by a meet official are directed at a member of our coaching staff. Parents may address USA Swimming Officials via the coaching staff ONLY. I understand and agree to the above terms and conditions of the Bolles School Sharks team in exchange for the privilege of my child (ren) to participate in the activities and swim program.

Bolles School Sharks official 2025-26 registration will stand as agreement to the above conditions.
