CCST Weather Policy

Kelly Walton

We wanted to make sure that everyone was in the know on our weather policy.  We have a lot of new members, and this will be the first rainy season as a part of our team. We follow the same rule that all pools do. You could say Disney found out our policy and stole it, or that's how I remember it :)

Here is the rule:

If lightning is within a 10 mile radius of the pool we have to get out of the pool and clear the pool deck.

We then have to wait until the last strike is outside that 10 mile radius for 30 minutes to be able to get back in.

We will do our best to continue, or start practice as time permits. Sticking to your email is the best way of finding out what is happening.

Weatherbug, and The Weather Channel are the main apps we use for determinations. To see what we see, put in Celebration as the location.

The town does not give us any credits, or refunds for weather.  We pay the same whether we use the facility 1 day or the whole month. While on the subject I also wanted to mention that unfortunately we do not own or maintain Lakeside pool.  All closures, or maintanence problems should be addressed to the Celebration Town Hall. We will do everything in our power to keep practice running with what we are given.
