Tumbling Level Descriptions

 

Tiny Tots Class (Ages 2-5): This class has no prerequisites and is geared towards athletes with little to no tumbling experience. Athletes will learn the following:

Handstand

Forward Roll

Backward Roll

Cartwheel

Bridge

Bridge Kickover


 

Beginner Level 1 Class: This class has no prerequisites and is geared towards athletes with little to no tumbling experience. Athletes will learn the following: 

Handstand

Forward Roll

Backward Roll

Cartwheel

Bridge

Bridge Kickover


 

Advanced Level 1 Class: To register for this class athletes must have mastered all of the skills taught in the previous class. Athletes will learn the following:

Round Off

Front Walkover

Back Walkover 

Back Walkover Switch Leg

Connected/Specialty Passes

 

 

Beginner Level 2 Class: To register for this class athletes must have mastered all of the skills taught in the previous class. Athletes will learn the following:

Back Handspring

Round Off Back Handspring

Cartwheel Back Handspring


 

Advanced Level 2 Class: To register for this class athletes must have mastered all of the skills taught in the previous class. Athletes will learn the following:

 

Back Handspring Step Out

Back Handspring Step Out, Back Walkover, Back Handspring

Round Off Back Handspring Series


 

Level 3/4 Class: To register for this class athletes must have mastered all of the skills taught in the previous class. This class is a combination of athletes working either Level 3 or Level 4 skills. Once an athlete achieves the skills at Level 3, they will begin working their Level 4 skills. Athletes will learn the following:

Front Walkover Round Off Back Handspring Tuck (Round Off Tuck)

Level 4

Level 5 Class: To register for this class athletes must have mastered all of the skills taught in the previous class. Athletes will learn the following:

Jump to Tuck

Standing Back Handspring to Layout

Standing 2 Back Handsprings to Layout

Standing Back Handspring-Whip-Layout

Round Off Back Handspring Full

Punch Front Step Out to Full

Round Off Back Handspring-Whip to Full


 

Level 6 Class: This class is currently available as an invitation only class. Once an athlete has mastered all of their Level 5 skills, they may be eligible for an invitation based on evaluation and space available. Athletes will learn the following:

Standing Full

Standing Back Handspring to Full

Standing Back Handspring Series to Double Full

Round Off Back Handspring Double Full

Specialty to Double Full


 

Bounders, Punch Fronts and Tricks Class: This class is for Level 2 and Level 3. Athletes will learn the following:

Flyspring Step Out

Front Handspring

Punch Front

Round Off Rebound 1/2 Turn

Specialty Passes (utilizing skills above to back handspring/tuck)


 

Whips and Tricks Class: This class is for Levels 4-6. Before registering for this class, athletes must have mastered all Level 4 standing tumbling and a round off back handspring layout. Athletes will learn the following:

Whip

Punch Front Step Out

Arabian

1 1/2 Full Step Out

Specialty Passes (utilizing skills above to layout/full/double full)
