Frequently Asked Questions About Evaluations

What happens during the evaluation?
During the 15-minute evaluation, our coaches will assess your swimmer's comfort level in the water, basic skills, and stroke technique if applicable. We’ll determine the best program and group placement based on their abilities. Then they will speak with you about group and practice options as well as answer any additional questions you have.

What should my swimmer wear?
Swimmers should wear a comfortable swimsuit (one-piece for girls, jammers or briefs for boys), bring goggles, and a towel. Swim caps are recommended but not required.

How long does the evaluation take?
15–20 minutes in the water. Please arrive 15 minutes early to check in and complete any necessary paperwork.

Do I have to sign up for an evaluation timeslot? What if they are full?
We are still excepting walk-ins. We will pull you as soon as we are able. But, we will plan on having a coach available for those that just walk in.

How much does an evaluation cost?
It's free!

What age groups do you accept?
We offer programs for swimmers ages 5–18, from intermediate to competitive athletes for the swim team. If your child is a beginner (cannot swim a lap of freestyle and a lap of backstroke), we would recommend swim lessons at our Woodstock Location's associated Swim Lesson Program.

What if my child is nervous about the evaluation?
Our coaches are experienced in working with swimmers of all comfort levels. The evaluation is low-pressure and supportive. Parents are encouraged to stay and watch.

What happens after the evaluation?
Our admin will send you an email to register. We recommend reading the email thouroughly before reaching out with questions.
