Coaches and Staff
Joshua Harrell, 33, is a dedicated husband, father, and lifelong lover of swimming. He has been married to his wife, Kara, for nearly 15 years, and together they are raising three wonderful children: Adalyn (7), Karoline (4), and baby William (4 months).
Joshua’s journey in swimming began at the age of 5 with the Douglas Stingrays, where he competed through high school as part of the Coffee County team. His passion and talent in the sport led him to swim at the collegiate level for South Georgia College's inaugural swim team. After a year of collegiate competition, Joshua made the decision to step away from the sport to focus on his marriage, career, and education.
Despite stepping away from competitive swimming, his love for the sport never waned. He joined the Valdosta Aquatics coaching staff at its inception and spent five impactful years coaching swimmers of all levels. After the birth of his second daughter, Joshua chose to pause his coaching career to prioritize his growing family.
In 2023, he returned to the pool deck as the head coach of the Valwood Swim Team, where his passion for swimming was reignited stronger than ever. Today, Joshua is committed to helping young athletes grow both in and out of the water, bringing a wealth of experience, enthusiasm, and heart to every practice.

With over a decade of swimming experience and eight years dedicated to teaching lessons, I bring both passion and expertise to the pool. A proud alumna of the Valdosta Aquatics program, I began swimming competitively at a young age and grew in the swimming community through VAST. At 18, I transitioned from athlete to coach, continuing my commitment to the sport by helping swimmers of all levels improve their technique, confidence, and love for the water.
Coach Quinn brings over a decade of competitive swimming experience and a deep appreciation for the discipline, precision, and teamwork the sport requires. A graduate of North Cobb Christian School, Quinn was a three-time GHSA State Championship qualifier and received the team’s highest award three times for leadership, dedication, and coaching ability.
Currently studying Health Sciences at Valdosta State University, Coach Quinn is passionate about understanding the human body and its performance. With a heart for helping swimmers grow in both skill and confidence, Quinn creates a positive training environment that builds strong character alongside athletic development.
