UofH Parking:

You may purchase a parking permit valid for evenings and weekends in the University Gateway Garage. The pass is valid M-F from 3pm-7am and all day Saturday through Sunday. The University Gateway Garage is the new garage across from the rec center to the northeast, close to Spur 5. 

The full cost of the pass would be $150 and will work through next summer.

The pass to the garage is a card that you enter into a card reader when you enter and exit the garage. It is not transferrable to another car. It will be tied to a license plate. So if you use the card when driving a car that's not on your account, you might receive a ticket. 

To purchase a parking pass:

1. You must go to the Parking Customer Service Office. It is open Monday through Friday 8a-5pm.

2. The office is located at the western end of the Elgin St garage. The western end of the Elgin St garage is located at Elgin St and Entrance 18. The general Parking Services office is located at a different part of the garage. You want the customer service office and it's right at Entrance 18 and Elgin.

3. You should make an online appointment before going to the customer service office. Go to uh.edu/parking. On the left side, scroll down to a link for Online Appointments. Follow the prompts. At some point, it will ask for your UH Cougar ID; I just left it blank. On another page it asked for a permit number. I also left that blank. It still allowed me to set an appointment.
