SSAN's Learn to Swim Program- Group Lessons
When and where are the classes?
- Every Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday at the Klein Oak High School Pool
How long are the classes?
- 30 minutes a class
What time are the classes?
Level times are subject to change.
- Level 1 Guppies
- Level 2 Sea Turtles
- Level 3 Rays
Makeup days will be held on Friday. We will only hold makeup classes due to insufficient weather or a facility event.
How much are the classes?
- $125 a month for 8 classes
- $40 Annual Registration Fee

Want to know about our different levels?
Level 1 Guppies- This class is designed for children who are ready for swim lessons without their parent(s) and willing to work with an adult coach. Prior swim lesson experience is strongly encouraged. The child must be able to listen, be separated from their parents during the lesson, work in a group, follow instructions, and wait for their turn. This class will focus on getting the child comfortable in the water, blowing bubbles, putting their face in the water, kicking, jumping into the water to the instructor, begin front/back floating, and beginning water safety.
Level 2 Sea Turtles- This class is for beginner swimmers who are comfortable putting their face in the water. They must be able to listen, be separated from their parent during the lesson, work in a group, follow instructions, and wait for their turn. Skill focus is front/back floating and gliding, kicking with straight legs, jumping into shallow and deep water, advanced water safety, and begin learning the competitive strokes of freestyle and backstroke.
Level 3 Rays- A swimmer must have complete the skill requirements in level 2 to advance to level 3. The child must be able to listen, be separated from their parents during the lesson, work in a group, follow instructions, and wait for their turn. This class is for intermediate swimmers that can swim short distances by themselves. Skill focus is breathing to side in freestyle, learning backstroke arms, treading water, jumping/diving into the deep end, horizontal rollovers, somersaults, and fundamental dolphin kick.
*All Learn to swim must be registered USA Swimming for insurance purposes.
PRIVATE LESSONS: 1:1 - $50 per half hour/per swimmer. These are scheduled as instructors and pool space is available.
