Ben comes to us after an 18 year
journey as Head Age Group Coach of the Phillips 66 Splash Club in
Oklahoma, ready for a new and exciting journey with the
Sails. He was head Age Group Coach here before moving
up to the Lead Senior/High School Coach and Lead Assistant to the
Head Coach. Ben is also the Sails Team
Administrator.
Honored to be a 6 time Age Group Coach of the year, 4 x
Conference Coach of the Year, and 5 time High School/Regional Coach
of the year award winner, he dedicates these awards to his
swimmers for their dedication and effort! Ben was also
Head Coach (11) and Assistant (7) for Bartlesville High School
teams, celebrating 6 State Championships and as many
runner up finishes. One of only three Coaches to
be a two time Head Coach and winner of the Oklahoma High
School Senior East vs West Showcase for both boys and girls.
Ben saw the importance of the Dry side
of Swimming as well with his committees and task force appointed as
a member of Illinois Swimming. He then served in
many offices for Oklahoma Swimming, including General Chair,
Vice Chair, 2 x Age Group Chair, as well as 15 years as Head Coach
for the Oklahoma Zone team. Coach Ben was a Stroke &
Turn Official for 5 years while in Oklahoma.
Ben started his swimming journey at age 7 in the Y program and
parlayed that into being able to swim and serve as captain for
Augustana College, in Illinois, under the direction of Dave Thomas.
He ended up on the top 25 All Time list for several events in
college at the time, loving breaststroke and IM.
Ben went on to Head Coaching jobs at the Kewanee YMCA, Quad
City Swim Club, and Morrison Seahorses (all in Illinois), before
landing in Oklahoma. Over 45 years of chlorine bliss!
Coach Ben is proud of the number of Individual & Relay State
Championships, Conference Champs, AG Champs, TAGS, Senior,
Regional/Central Zone/Sectional/Junior National swims, team
records, pool records, and high school successes his teams
experienced, but he is most proud of how the swimmers under his
tutelage grew over the years as people! “They gave as leaders
to make themselves and those around them get the most out of every
challenge and opportunity put in front of them. A true dedication
to who they are and what they are all about!”
He is happy to be in League City, where his mother and sister (with
her family including his niece and nephew - both on Sails!),
reside. Family, faith, friends, and swimming are most important,
but watching movies, TV, and attempting to golf are all enjoyable
in his little bit of free time.

She also earned a full scholarship for swimming at IONA University in New Rochelle, NY, where she majored in psychology. She continued to excel in and enjoy swimming during college. While at IONA Jeaneen set 2 team records. Her best events were 200 Fly, 100 fly, 200 Back, 100 Back and 200 IM.

She is passionate about sharing her love of swimming with others. Her goal is to help every swimmer that she coaches to become the best version of themselves both in and out of the water. Positive mental attitude is a huge part of her training and she wants her swimmers to understand that they need to train mentally as well as physically to reach their full potential.
