CHOOSING A LEVEL

SWAT offers American Red Cross swim lessons for swimmers of ages 4 and up. Our instructors are highly qualified with WSI & Life Guarding certifications and is instructed to teach using a blend of American Red Cross and our very own teaching philosophy. 
 
*Students are required to master each level before being promoted to the next level 
 

Level 1 - Water Exploration (Shallow Water Lesson) 

Emphasize on comfort in the water, safety and skills performed with the help of an instructor. Skills include submerging face in the water, front & back float with support, kicking on front & back with support and enter & exit the water independently.

Students must master this level without any assistance from the instructor prior to moving up to level 2

 

Level 2 - Fundamental Water Skills 

Review level 1, Board kicking, float on front & back unsupported for 5 seconds, Rollovers, Streamline front / back, streamline kicking (front / back), Elementary backstroke kick and under water swimming.

Students must master this level without any assistance from the instructor prior to moving up to level 3

 

Level 3 - Stroke Readiness: Free, Back, Breaststroke Development 

Review level 1 & 2, Kicking, correct body position & rotation Free/Back, 11 drill (freestyle), Arm movements Free/Back, Focuses on Breathing Cycle to side (free), continued coordination of the front and back crawl for 10 yard.  Focuses on breaststroke kick with board, correct body position, arm movements, two kicks one pull drill. Elementary breaststroke for 10 yard, Swimming 25 yard continuously.

Students must master this level without any assistance from the instructor prior to moving up to Developmental Group.
