Welcome, Parents!
Mānoa Aquatics has been apart of the Mānoa community for over 40 years. Mānoa Aquatics is dedicated to the success of your child. Club swimming in Hawaiʻi would be impossible without the help and support of parents. Mānoa Aquatics is a smaller swim team and relies on the efforts of our parents.
The Board of Directors are required to hold a minimim of 3 General meetings to communicate all things involving Mānoa Aquatics.
Our team parents are an integral part to the success of team activities, such as, potlucks, parades, neighbor island trips, and swim camps. If you are interested in helping with a specific event, please feel free to talk to a Board member
Practices and Groupings:
Monday – Friday. 5:00- 6:30 p.m. Mānoa District Pool
Yellow Group 1: This is our entry level group. Swimmers should be able to swim 50 meters without stopping and without assistance. Athletes will learn all four competitive strokes and work on stroke, starts and turn techniques. Swimmers are encourages to enter all meets that they are qualified for to further their experience
Yellow Group 2: Athletes in this group are usually at least Entry Level-12 years old. This group is focusing on further developing stroke technique in all four competitive strokes, starts, and turn techniques and yardage. Competing in swim meets shat they are qualified for are highly encouraged.
Black Group: Minimum age for entry in this group is 13 years old. Swimmers in this group may still be working on refining their technique development of the four basic strokes and yardage. Competing in swim meets shat they are qualified for are highly encouraged.
Swim Gear and Equipment
Swimsuits (girls- one piece, no tie- backs and boys wear jammers or briefs), kick board, fins, towel, goggles, and water bottle are needed for every swim practice. Some groups need a swimming snorkel. Label everything. In colder weather, please bring an addtional jacket or swim parka
Swim Meet Advice: Have 2 of everything on hand for swim meets. 2 swimsuits, 2 googles, and 2 Manoa Aquatics caps. Things break (wear down) and having extra on hand helps.
For team t-shirts and swim caps, inquire at the pool and we will change your account. T-shirts are $12 and swim caps are $10.
For those that want to order a parka or other swim gear, this is our club's team shop on SwimOutlet

Safety:
For your child’s safety, they must be picked up promptly at the end of your child's session, so please be at the pool 10 min prior to the end of swim practice.
Swim Meet Information:
Visit Hawaiian Swimming's events page to see dates of upcoming meets.
Text your coach to let them know if your child is available for an upcoming meet. The deadline to be entered for a meet is the end of practice on Monday the week of the meet, but it is better to communicate that decision the Friday before that Monday.
Please touch base with your child’s coach 2 weeks before a meet to inform them if your child can attend or not. Your child’s coach will let you know what events your child will be swimming in when the entries are sent out. There are no refunds of meet entry fees once the entries are submitted to the host club. Parent responsibilities for meets will be rotated among families (i.e., picking up the Club’s canopy at the pool, getting it to the meet and setting it up; being a timer; returning the canopy to the Manoa pool on Monday, etc.).
Swimmer Fees and Monthly Dues:
New swimmers may try-out for five days so that they and the coaches can determine if Mānoa Aquatics is the right fit. The initial payment for new swimmers is $275.00: A one-time initiation fee of $85, an annual USA Swimming membership fee of $90 (paid directly to USA Swimming), and the first month’s dues of $100.
Monthly dues are collected at the beginning of the month, along with meet entry fees if applicable. Monthly dues are $100 for the first swimmer and $75 for each sibling. Dues are not prorated based on the day of the month a swimmer joins swim practices.
When swimming for a school team, a swimmer may go on “inactive” status during the school’s swim season. The rate for inactive status is $35 per month. Inactive status is on a full-month basis only, i.e., a calendar month. Inactive status is never retroactive; it begins when the parent notifies the Club.
USA Swimming Registration:
USA Swimming membership dues of $90 per year needs to be renewed every year on the USA Swimming website. New memberships currently cover the period from September (current year) through December of the following year.
Payments
Payments are accepted online through your Team Unify account. Please do not give monthly dues or registration fees to anyone at the pool.
