Scott began swimming competitively at the age of four with the
Marlins Swim Club in Normal, Illinois. His swimming career led him
to pursue swimming in college at Carthage College in Kenosha,
Wisconsin. Following his graduation in 2014, he did not want to
leave the sport behind, so he pursued a career in coaching in Cedar
Falls, Iowa with the Black Hawk Area Swim Team (BLAST). Starting
with first time swimmers he worked his way up to running his own
two groups of athletes aged 7 to 12 within a year. Iowa has an 8
and under championship meet that BLAST was able to win every single
season from 2015 to 2019. In 2016, he began helping the Cedar Falls
High School teams as an assistant coach. In 2018, Scott took over
as head coach of both the men's and women's high school teams.
Scott has taken home coaching accolades that include: Iowa age
group staff of the year 2 times, high school conference coach
of the year 2 times, nominated to coach the Iowa Zones team in
2019.
While coaching in Cedar Falls, Scott met his now wife, Sararose
Holding. Sararose was born and raised on Maui and with very little
twisting of Scott's arm, convinced him to move here at the end of
the high school season in 2020. Due to the pandemic he was not able
to arrive on island until June of 2020 but could not be happier to
be here.
