Debra Hill Owner

Deb was raised in Boise, graduated from Boise High School and attended college in Seattle.  She graduated from the University of Washington with a Finance degree and received an MBA from Seattle University.

Deb swam for the Boise YMCA Swim Team for eight years while growing up and thoroughly enjoyed the experience.  Her passion for coaching came from the coaches she had during her competitive experiences in sports growing up.  Jim Everett, her YMCA Swim Coach as a young swimmer, was the "one coach" who made the biggest impact on her life.  He gave her the drive to be a positive role model and mentor in her coaching. Jim Everett encouraged Deb to be a volunteer coach for the Capital High School Swim Team, her first season of coaching in 1991. In 1992 she was offered the Head Swim Coach position at Bishop Kelly High School.  This gave her the opportunity to give back to a sport that made such a positive impact on her life, while allowing her the flexibility to raise her 3 children.

Her philosophy on coaching has always been to support each swimmer and help them reach their goals.  She believes that part of being a good coach is to think about what is best for the swimmer.  Mentoring over the character and growth of each swimmer is her passion. She truly wants to make an impact on each of their lives.

After 27 years as Head Coach at Bishop Kelly, Deb stepped down to focus on Boise Swim Club.  Two of the highlights of her career were seeing high school swimming get officially sanctioned in 2017 along with the BK boys and girls 4A State Titles!

In 2004, Deb was named Idaho High School Swimming Coach of the Year.  Deb was the Treasurer for Treasure Valley High School Swimming for 20 years and served on the Board for the Association of Idaho High School Swimming.   Deb received "Coach of the Year 2021" for Snake River Swimming.  In 2022 she received the "Distinguished Coach of the Year" for District III High School Swimming for her involvement and dedication to high school swimming the past 30 years.

Deb is currently the District III Swim Commissioner for Idaho High School Swimming.  She also serves on the Board of Directors for Snake River Swimming as the Coaches Representative.  Deb continues to educate herself and is an ASCA Level 3 coach.

Deb started Boise Swim Club in April 2013 and oversees all aspects of the team.

Stephanie O'Malley Head Coach

Stephanie has been with Boise Swim Club since 2013.  She started out as an Age Group Coach and then began working with and developing the Senior program.  In her time with BSC the Senior program has developed athletes all the way up to the Sectionals level.  She also helped establish our partnership with Idaho Fitness Academy and implemented our Mental Fitness program.

Outside Boise Swim Club, Stephanie is the current General Chair for the Board of Directors for Snake River Swimming. She has served our Local Swimming Committee (LSC) as the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Chair and has served as an Age Group Zones coach for the LSC three times.

Stephanie received "Coach of the Year in 2019" for Snake River Swimming.

If Stephanie had to summarize her personal coaching philosophy, she would say "I always do my best to put the human being first, and the athlete second. The rest is up to them.  I will always do my best to help each and every swimmer meet their personal goals by providing them with the tools necessary to get there.  Their success ultimately comes from inside them and what they decide to do in the pool.  It is my job to guide them."

Stephanie currently teaches Business classes at Boise State and is the Education Content Manager for ClickBank

Brady Karratti Lead Senior Groups
Brady Duwayne Keolaonakaikaina Karratti. But most just call me "Koach". (And YES, the last name sounds like "karate" as in "karate kid")

I've always been drawn to the water. When I was learning to walk, I got away from my parents and jumped into a pool, and fortunately my father was fast enough to pull me out. I've had "chlorine in my veins" ever since.

Throughout my years of swimming; I was a State Champion and moved on to swim nationally where I was one of the top 3 Breaststrokers in the West Coast. From there I would compete internationally against swimmers from Canada, Mexico, Russia and Japan. Eventually, I hung up my goggles and focused my effort toward coaching this amazing sport.

I've worked with all ranges of athletes. From rec and club swimmers, to private coaching collegiate athletes and swimmers that went on to compete in the Olympics. During my coaching career, many teams I've coached have won State Championships AND Regional Championships. Many swimmers I've coached have received "Swimmer of the Year" out of the entire state, athletic scholarships, and a few qualified for "All-American". To top it all off: I was the personal coach for FIVE current State Records in Utah.

This is my coaching philosophy:
"I Don't Create Olympic Swimmers, I Help Create Olympic PEOPLE". With this, I will help you become the best you can be. Both in and out of the water.

I love this sport and plan on being a part of it for the rest of my life, and I look forward to joining this amazing organization.
