Goshen Strength and Speed is excited to partner with McKee’s Baseball and Softball Academy to help athletes in the area elevate their athletic potential.
Goshen Strength and Speed was founded in 2022 by Tyler Miller, a Strength and Conditioning Coach, Track and Field Coach, and human performance enthusiast.
As a student at Goshen High School, Tyler earned an athletic scholarship to Purdue University. He went on to study Exercise Science while competing for the Boilermaker Track and Field program as a Shot Put, Discus, and Hammer thrower. Tyler has also competed in Long Drive, Strongman, Weightlifting, and Highland Games over the course of his athletic career.
With over 15 years of coaching experience working with more than a thousand athletes, Tyler has coached in a broad range of settings. His career includes stops in NCAA Division 1 athletics, High School Strength and Conditioning, private performance training, weightlifting, powerlifting, track and field, and leadership development.
Though he is no stranger to helping athletes develop absurdly big lifts and has taken many athletes to National Championships in multiple strength sports, he recognizes the complexity of skills needed to excel in sports often requires athletes to be more than just “weight room strong.”
Most athletes today recognize the value in getting stronger, however many don’t know how to train in a way that will translate directly to their success on the field or on the court. For that reason, Tyler has a particular interest in strength and conditioning for athletes who have typically been underserved in the weight room.
Goshen Strength and Speed has an unusual format for training athletes that doesn’t look quite like traditional personal training.
We create individualized training programs to meet the unique needs of each athlete we serve. Depending on the athlete’s needs and time of year, training sessions could last anywhere from 30 minutes to 2 hours.
To keep training costs down and enhance the training atmosphere, we deliver sessions in a semi-private group training setting. This model is more effective for the development of athletes, as traditional personal training sessions are limited to a certain time allotment that is pre-purchased, rather than allowing individual athletes the time required to fully address their personal needs.
At only $25 to $40 per training session, this model is also significantly more affordable than traditional personal training that costs $1 per minute or more.
