About Us

The Warsaw Aquatic Club offers competitive swimming from age 5 through high school.  We are located in Warsaw, Indiana and practice at the Warsaw Community High School pool.  The organization operates as a 501(c)(3) non profit.  It is run by a volunteer board of directors and the Head Coach, Chris LaLonde.  Our mission statement is that the Warsaw Aquatic Club will provide every swimmer the opportunity to develop the athlete’s fullest potential.  We will become a feeder program for the Warsaw Community High School swim team.

Coach LaLonde has 33 years of experience as a swim coach.  She started coaching in 1990 with the Kokomo Aquatic Club.  In 1994, she moved to Warsaw to work at Warsaw Community High School where she also helped coach the high school swim teams.  In 1996, she became the head coach for WCHS Boys Swimming and stayed in that position for 7 years.  In 2003, she became a volunteer coach for the YMCA team and later became the head coach.  Coach LaLonde has been the head coach of the Warsaw Aquatic Club since its formation in 2017.

Chris grew up in Kokomo, Indiana.  She was involved in a variety of sports, including softball, golf, basketball, tennis and swimming.  She swam for Haworth Swim Association from age 7-14.  She was on the 200-free relay team that won the state meet and set a new state record.  She also finished 4th in the 200 free at the state meet.  Unfortunately, her high school did not have a pool or swim team, so she participated in other high school sports.

Chris attended Purdue University and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in physical education and a minor in health and safety. Chris is married to her wonderful husband, Mike, and they have a daughter and two sons.
