Charlie Tracy Qualifies For US Olympic Trials On Day 2 of NCSA Meet

Charlie Tracy started the night off with some fireworks in the 400 IM achieving his first ever United States Olympic Trial Cut in the men's 400 IM.  Charlie came into the meet with a best time of 4:31.45 and dropped 2 seconds in prelims to qualify 4th and then in finals dropped another 5.5 seconds to take second with a time of 4:23.89 well under the OT standard of 4:25.19.  These are new overall team and 17-18 records and just off the Illinois state record.  The Olympic Trials will be held at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indy next summer.  Congrats Charlie on this great achievement!

Kayla Duran took 7th in the women's 100 breaststroke setting new overall team and 17-18 records.  Jackson Heinlein-Preseault finished 31st in the men's 100 breaststroke and established a new 15-16 team record.  The relays were strong again for the Pack.  The women's 200 free relay foursome of Maya Arroyo, Jasmine Morgan, Julieta Tracy and Isabella Chow finished 5th establishing a new team record.  The men's 800 free relay team of Peter Nolan, Jackson Heinlein-Preseault, Charlie Tracy and Joey Countryman finished 5th as well.  Nolan's leadoff 200 was a new winter and summer junior national time.

The Pack are in 4th place after two days of competetion.
