Hooper-Haviland & Cheng Highlight Day 1 at Senior State

The Illinois Swimming Senior State meet opened up on Thursday and while there was only one event the Pack came out strong in their home pool.  Biko Hooper Haviland eclipsed the 8-year-old team record in the 1000 free with a time of 9:13.77 in route to winning the state title.  Joy Cheng was state runner up on the girls side with a time of 10:08.33 which also established a new 15-16 team record and was her first winter junior national time standard.  George Ivascu posted a best time in taking 4th and Liv Cremer also reached the podium with a 10 second drop to take 6th.  Charlie Cali and Alex Ivascu finished 12th and 13th respectively to score points for the Pack who sit in second place in the overall team standings.
