Trio of Individual Champs Highlight Day 2 of Senior State
CWAC swimmers had a great day on Friday and moved to the top of the standings after two days of competition with a narrow lead over the Academy Bullets. The Pack had a trio of state champions. Jackson Heinlein-Preseault captured his first ever individual state title in the boys 100 breaststroke. Isabella Chow took the top spot in the girls 50 backstroke setting a new team record of 25.12 and was runner up in the girls 100 butterfly. Biko Hooper-Haviland picked up his second state title of the meet winning the boys 100 butterfly in a new best time of 47.77.
The boys 800 free relay team of Alistair Guth, George Ivascu, Heinlein-Preseault and Hooper-Haviland wrapped up the day with a state runner up performance. Stevie Grud finished third in the boys 100 breast, Briana Mingmuang was third in the girls 50 back and Kale Chow finished third in the boys 400 IM.
Podium Performances were turned in by Eliana King (T5th) and Brooke Whitt (7th) in the girls 100 breaststroke. Maya Arroyo and Liepa Niaura finished 7th and 8th respectively in the girls 50 backstroke. Grud and Alistair Guth were 5th and 8th in the boys 50 backstroke and Guth picked up an 8th place finish in the boys 100 butterfly. George Ivascu took 4th in the boys 400 IM and 5th in the boys 200 freestyle. Franchesca Sanchez and Alexia Brockmann took 7th and 8th in the girls 100 butterfly. Colleen Tracy grabbed 4th in the girls 200 IM
