CWAC WINS SENIOR STATE MEET!

The Pack opened the last day of competition with a win in the girls 200 medley relay which featured the foursome of Briana Mingmuang, Brooke Whitt Franchesca Sanchez and Isabella Chow.  Whitt went on to win her first individual state title later that evening winning the girls 50 breaststroke.  Chow picked up her fourth state title of the meet with a win in the 100 girls freestyle along with a third place finish in the 50 breaststroke.  The Pack then closed out the meet with a pair of wins in the 400 free relay with both the girls and boys picking up state titles.  The girls quartet of Isabella Chow, Liepa Niaura, Colleen Tracy, Brockmann and the boys foursome of Jackson Heinlein-Preseault, George Ivascu and Biko-Hooper Haviland put a stamp on a great meet for the Pack winning their first Senior State team title in 10 years and is the first ever short course team title.  Congrats to all of the swimmers, coaches and families!!

Joy Cheng was state runner up in the girls 1650 free with a 20 second drop.  Jackson Heinlein-Preseault was runner up in the boys 50 breaststroke and later finished 8th in the 100 free.  Biko Hooper-Haviland was state runner up in the boys 200 butterfly.  Alex Ivascu finished 3rd in the boys 1650 free and Briana Mingmuang took third in the girls 200 back.  Alexia Brockmann and Alistair Guth were 3rd in the girls and boys 100 free respectively.

Podium Performances were turned in by Mariposa Arroyo who finished 7th in the girls 1650 free and Charlie Cali who took 8th in the boys 1650 free.  Liepa Niaura was 8th in the girls 200 backstroke.  Kale Chow finished 7th in the boys 200 backstroke.  Eliana King was 5th in the girls 50 breaststroke. Dalton Ferguson and Ben Del Cid each got on the podium for the first time this weekend with 7th place finishes in the boys 50 breaststroke and 200 butterfly respectively.

The boys 200 medley ‘A’ team of Kale Chow, Jackson Heinlein-Preseault, Biko Hooper-Haviland and Alistair Guth finished 4th.  The girls 400 free ‘B’ team of Claire Wood, Kinsley Fitzgerald, Franchesca Sanchez and Joy Cheng finished 4th.  The girls 200 medley ‘B’ team of Liepa Niaura, Eliana King, Kinsley Fitzgerald and Alexia Brockmann grabbed 6th place.  The boys 400 free relay ‘B’ team of Danny Scott, Matthew Gaughan, Ashton Boeke and Kale Chow took 8th.
