2025 Parent Volunteering Requirements

South Irvine Dolphins is a 100% volunteer organization. The success and culture of the team is directly correlated to the volunteer commitment and positive attitudes of our parents. It’s an opportunity to set an example for our kids, have fun, socialize with neighbors and make new friends!

Each family is required to volunteer for 7 jobs which can be a mixture of swim meet jobs and event jobs.

Your registration will not be approved until you've signed up for all of your volunteer jobs, so sign up early to get the shifts you want.

Families will be notified once our volunteer sign up is open for registration and then you may sign up for the jobs and meets you would prefer to work.   The "Job Signup" section for the team events and swim meets will be opened shortly after the Virtual Kick-off / New Family Welcome Meeting held in May. Each job has a point value. Typically a job will equal one point and will last approximately 2.5 hours, or half of a swim meet.

We recognize that plans change. If you are unable to come for your volunteer job, it is your responsibility to find a replacement. The best alternative may be trading shifts with a family scheduled to volunteer at another meet. Please let our volunteer coordinator know of any changes as soon as possible.

If you miss one volunteer shift, your credit card on file will be charged $100. If you miss a second shift, your credit card on file will be charged $250.  If you miss a third shift, your swimmer(s) may be removed from the team. If you fail to meet your volunteer obligations for the season, your swimmer(s) may not be able to return to the team next season.
