Registration Process on Team Unify:

1. Go to the “Registration” button halfway down our main website page.

2. Click on the “add to cart” next to the group that you are registering for.  You can add the groups of all of your swimmers at this step.  See the fee schedule below for all of the age group swimmers.  For Senior swimmers (high school age), you’ll also hit “add to cart.”  Note that once you get to the next step you’ll get to choose whether you want to pay in full or the installment method (see further in this document the payment options).

3. Click on the “check out now” or the shopping cart at the top right and then “check out now.”

4. Pick the swimmer that you are registering.  Note that there is a small “pencil” to the right of the swimmer’s name and input all the required information and then hit save.  Pay attention to the shirt size that you choose because we always have big kids whose parents accidentally get them youth sizes and tiny kids whose parents accidentally chose adult.  You will not be able to move on from this screen until all this information is filled out. Include a n/a if it doesn’t apply.

5. Choose your location (Rocky River or Westlake Rec Center).

6. Pick the payment option.

7. Answer the “Are you transferring from another team?” question.

8. Hit next.

9. Review that the choices you have made are correct and hit next.

10. Update credit card and billing information if needed and hit “pay now.”

Training Groups - Parents should register their swimmers for the training group that their swimmer is registered for this spring/summer season ,or if they did not swim summer with Lakeshore, last winter.  If swimmers are going to move to a different training group, Coach Vince or Coach Sam will email you after the first few weeks with your swimmer’s new training group.  Note that we understand that many swimmers may have progressed over the summer and parents feel that their group should change.  The coaches will be using the first few weeks to assess this.  The coaching staff makes group determinations based on a multitude of factors, but the largest influence is each swimmer’s ability to train, as these are training groups.  Coaches will put swimmers through their groups' “exit goals” at the beginning of the season to see where swimmers fit best for their training.  This is the reason that everyone (except high school) is being charged $100 at registration as groups are determined.  If you pay in full and adjustments need to be made to your account, they will be done for you.

Practice Schedule – The Fall and tentative Winter practice schedule, when released, can be found at https://www.gomotionapp.com/team/lelssc/page/practice/google-calendar.  The TeamUp app can be downloaded, which will include practice times that include any practice time changes/cancellations, and you have the ability to set up notifications when there are changes to your swimmer’s group.  PDF versions of the schedules are on the website under Practices (this is the base schedule and may change; please use the TeamUp app for the most up-to-date practice times).

Billing – Families will have two options for payment, with the exception of the Gray groups, which only have the option to pay in full.  The first option is to pay in full at registration.  The second option is payment plans- Senior groups have the option for two payments, and the rest have the option to be billed in October, November, December, and January.  At registration, each swimmer will be charged $25 for the yearly team registration (used to cover team, coach, board, other required non-athlete registration, plus other administrative expenses).  Please see the chart below for billing months and the options based for high school swimmers and age group swimmers.  Note that the last bill is in January even though the season runs through February.  All billing is done automatically through Team Unify using the credit card that you have on file.  Meet fees, social events, etc are billed separately and will charge your credit card on the 1st of every month.

Both payment plans require that the family agree to a contract for the duration of the season.  No refunds will be given unless a swimmer is injured and agreed upon by the board.  Not continuing to swim nor not attending practice/meets does not constitute any refund of fees nor does it absolve the family of their volunteer commitment Any additional sibling training fees beyond the first will be discounted by $50 per swimmer after the first swimmer.

Senior Select Group (high school) – Two options for payment.  The first is the installment payment, which will require the $25 yearly team fee plus $350 at registration.  The second payment will be paid on October 1st.  Second, the family can choose to pay the entire amount at registration.

Senior Group (high school)- Two options for payment.  The first is the installment payment, which will require the $25 yearly team fee plus $310 at registration.  The second payment will be paid on October 1st.  Second, the family can choose to pay the entire amount at registration.

Age Group – Two options for payment.  Everyone will be charged $100 at registration plus the team $25 yearly fee, whichever option you choose.  After the first few weeks, when final groups have been determined by the coaches, we will adjust their groups in Team Unify.  Then, based on the option that you choose at registration, your family will be billed the amounts below.

Westlake vs. Rocky River location – Swimmers who are new to the team should register for the site that they are assigned by the coaches after tryouts.  Swimmers who live in Rocky River should select Rocky River as their location.  Swimmers who live in Westlake should select Westlake as their location.  Swimmers in other cities may choose their site until the group is full at that site.   Exceptions to this policy.  All Blue swimmers should select Rocky River, as we will not have Blue groups at Westlake.  If a training group is overfilled, then a member of the coaching staff will contact you regarding space at the other location.  There is a high chance that the Senior Group at Rocky River will become overfull and sites will need to be adjusted for swimmers.  If you are a Senior group swimmer who attends High School in Westlake or west of Rocky River (Avon, Avon Lake, Bay, North Ridgeville, Amherst, Elyria Catholic, Lake Ridge, etc.)  please select Westlake as your location.  If you are a Senior Group Swimmer who attends school in Rocky River or East of Rocky River  (Magnificat, St. Ed’s, St. Ignatius, etc.) please select Rocky River as your location.  Those Senior swimmers with a USA Swimming Sectional time, you should select the Rocky River Senior (High school) Group.   If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to Coach Vince at [email protected].

Volunteer requirement – As a not-for-profit swim club, there will be times volunteers through the season when volunteers will be needed.  We will send out volunteer opportunities throughout the season. In the past, we have required each family to complete 10 credits. This season, we are not going to mandate volunteering during the regular season. Still, we do ask that families respect our need for volunteers and sign up when opportunities become available.

However, if your swimmer qualifies for and signs up for the Short Course Championship meets, there will be mandatory volunteer requirements.   More information will be sent regarding this volunteer requirement.  Failure to complete the requirement will result in a $150 fine.  This requirement is for every group from Gray 2 to the high school swimmers.  Please note that every family will be required to sign off that they acknowledge the financial and volunteer commitments and accept these requirements when registering their swimmer in order to join the team.

Gray 1 & Gray 2 Groups- The only payment option for this group is to pay in full, which will require the $25 yearly team fee plus $120 for Gray 1 swimmers at registration or $355 for Gray 2 swimmers at registration.  For Gray 2 swimmers, If your swimmer qualifies for and signs up for the Short Course Championship meets, there will be volunteer requirements.

USA Swimming Registration - USA Swimming registration is required for every swimmer on our team.  No swimmer will be allowed to practice without this, as it affects the insurance of the entire team.  More information will be coming out shortly on this process.  If you are new to the team, I will be sending more information out in September on creating your account if you register before September 1st or will be the last step in registering after September 1st when signing up for Lakeshore.  Gray 1 Swimmers only need to have a Flex Membership.

Lakeshore team registration is required before the swimmer can begin to practice.  Any swimmer who is 18 or turns 18 during the season will be required by United States Swimming to complete the Athlete Protection program online.  Before every meet a list of those 18 & older is run by Lake Erie swimming and your swimmer will not be allowed to compete without this being completed.  Sign in to your SWIMS account to complete this.  https://hub.usaswimming.org/landing.

If you have any questions, please get in touch with me at [email protected].  For any new swimmers, please review the Common Questions/Terms on our website for some additional explanations on some swimming terms, how to view your bills, how to sign up for a meet, etc.  Please register any returning swimmers by August 25th so that we know how many open spots that we have to let new swimmers in from try-outs and not risk your swimmer’s spot being taken.

Thanks,

Nicole Slivinski
