Another Outstanding Weekend for RYD

Congratulations to RYD swimmers and coaches on a very exciting weekend. Many swimmers competed in the dual meet against West Shore on Saturday, with others competing in the Shaker Shark Invitational Friday through Sunday.

RYD remains undefeated in dual meet competition, swimming to a 9-2 victory over the West Shore YMCA Sea Turtles. With many swimmers participating in the Shaker Shark Invitational, the rest of the team stepped up to get the win. There were many first time individual event winners in the meet. Swimmers winning individual events were: Maya Assaf, Megan Beals, Emma Bobofchak, Eric Chimes, Emma Ditzig, Sara Djuric, Jake Fabian, Aidan Florio, Jacob Florio, Francesca Galeti, Anthony Kacki, Caroline Kinzel, Karen Krosky, Andriy Mahlay, Anna Martin, Kayla Mavrakis, Abby McNichols, Claire Pastore, Zachary Petros, Maksym Pokostsky, Madelyn Romstadt, Kai Rybarczyk, Tate Rybarczyk, Abby Sidloski, and Madison Weiss.

At the Shaker Shark Invitational, RYD took 3^rd place out of 38 team, scoring 578 points in the three day meet. There were many great swims, including eight new team records and a Lake Erie Record. The 11-12 boys 200 free relay of Eric Norman, Eric Widenhofer, Davyd Sadovskyy, and William Zhang broke the Lake Erie swimmer, Lake Erie event, and RYD team record with a time of 1:41.36. These boys set the goal to break the Lake Erie record last season, so congratulations to them for achieving their goal and breaking a 20 year old record! Other special accomplishments include Zach Toothman winning the IMX award for the meet and Eric Norman winning every individual and relay event that her participated in (10 first place finishes!).
