Hershey Aquatic Club offers training and practice groups for swimmers of all ages and ability levels. It is the goal of Hershey Aquatic Club to offer age specific training for all of our athletes geared towards challenging each individual and developing each individual to the best of THEIR abilities.

 Age Group Prep

  • Invite only from HAC Pre Team Mini Classes.
  • Swimmers enter PK-4 (5 years and older)
  • Swimmers must have participated in the Pre Team Mini during Fall, Winter, and be recommended by the Pre Team Mini Coach.
  • Must be able to swim Freestyle and Backstroke in an efficient manner.
  • The practice group will have no more than 15-18
  • Will have the opportunity to participate in summer league swim competitions.

Age Group Bronze:

  • Swimmers entering Grades  1-4 (6 years and older)    
  • Competition PreRequisites:  Must have succesfully competed in at least 3 of the 4 strokes successfully.
  • Attend 2-3 practice per week
  • The practice group with no more than 18-24  participants. 
  • Equipment: Fins

Age Group Silver

  • Swimmer entering Grades 3-6  (8 years and older)    
  • Swimmer must have demonstrated the ability to listen in a large group setting.
  • Swimmers must be able to swim repetitive 25s and 50s demonstrating proper techniques in freestyle, backstroke, and either butterfly or breaststroke.
  • Competition PreRequisites:  Swimmers 9 years or older  have successfully competed in a 50 of each stroke or 8&Unders that  have successfully competed in the 100 IM.
  • Attend 2-3 practices per week
  • The practice group will consist of approximately 18 swimmers. 
  • Equipment:  Fins            

Age Group Gold

  • Swimmer entering Pre K-5th
  • Competition PreRequisites: Successfully competed in 100 Free and 100 IM and a 50 of each stroke.
  • Practice PreRequisites:  In practice during the 200 Free set, achieve a time 3:15 or better
  • Silver Champ times 9-10 at least 3, 11-12 at least 2, 13-14 at least 2
  • Swimmer must have demonstrated the ability to listen in a large group setting.
  • Swimmers must be able to swim repetitive 50s and 100s demonstrating proper techniques in all four strokes (Butterfly, Backstroke, Breaststroke, and Freestyle)
  • Attend 3-5 practice per week
  • The practice group will consist of approximately 18-24 swimmers. 
  • Equipment:  Fins, Kickboard, Snorkel;

Pre Senior Group

  • Swimmers grades 6th - 8th 
  • Competition PreRequisites:  Successfully competed in the 200 Free, 200 IM, and a 100 of each stroke.
  • Practice PreRequisites: Averaged faster than 2:45 during the test set:  3 x 200 Free @ 6:00.
  • Silver Champ Times  11-12 at least 3, 13-14 at least 2 
  • Swimmer has already demonstrated understanding of interval training while staying on task. 
  • Attend 4-6 practices per week along with dryland training
  • Practice group will consist of approximately  18-24  swimmers         
  • Equipment:  Fins, Paddles, Snorkel, pull buoy

Senior

  • Swimmers entering grades 9-12
  • Achieve the following time standards to participate in Saturday Practices
  • Attend all practices available.  Spring sport athletes may attend when available until spring sport has finished.
  • Available morning dry land training is mandatory for Hershey students.
  • Swimmers will have completed or are currently finishing their first year of high school.
  • Equipment: Fins, stroke maker paddles, arena finger paddles, snorkel, buoy

College

  • Swimmers that have completed one year of collegiate swimming
  • Practice schedule same as Senior Group.
  • Equipment: Fins, stroke maker paddles, arena finger paddles, snorkel, buoy
