Marlin Alumni Updates
Jerry Frentsos
Annapolis, Md.
Frentsos, a 44-year-old Realtor (and former Marlin), set five world records over six months in the master’s 45–49 age group, breaking his own marks in the long course 200-meter individual medley three times (2:14.90) and setting records in the short course 200-meter IM (2:09.71) and long course 400-meter IM (4:47.65). Frentos was a three-time All-America at Florida and a Marlin in the 1980s.
In 1980, six Cincinnati Marlins (Kim Carlisle, Lisa Buese, Bill Barrett, Mary T. Meagher, Glenn Mills and Stephanie Elkins. Marlin coach Dennis Pursley was also slated to be a member of the Olympic staff) qualified to represent the United States at the Moscow Olympics. Our country’s boycott of the games denied them the opportunity to represent the United States.
