Imbus Qualifies for Sectionals, Buse Advances to Finals
Columbus, Ohio, March 2. Will Imbus and Megan Buse will be representing the Marlins tonight in the finals of the 100 Breaststroke at the Tim Meyer Ohio Senior Short Course Championships at Ohio State University.
Imbus leads the charge with his first USA Swimming Sectional Championship cut. Pacing the prelims in 1:01.51 (a 7 second time drop from his entry time, however he had swam faster during the High School season) will be swimming in the Consolation final placing 19thafter his morning swim.
Buse will lead off the night for the Marlins after dropping from a 1:12 to a 1:10 in her 100 Breaststroke. She will also be competing in the Consolation Final after placing 20thout of prelims.
Here at Ohio State they have a 10 lane competition pool and are using all 10 lanes in prelims as well as finals. The top 30 swimmers will advance out of the prelims and swim at night in finals.
The Marlins swam extremely well through the first prelim session. There have been multiple best times during the tough competition. Annually, this meet draws some of the collegiate swimmers from around the area who are looking for a few more good swims. Many of the top spots are taken by the college swimmers, which is why it is even more impressive for our swimmers to be making second swims.
Keep up the great work Marlins!
