The Prince George's County, Department of Parks and Recreation's Sharks Swim Team (PGPR) is a United States Swimming, Inc. swim team. PGPR competes in the Potomac Valley Swimming (PVS) Local Swimming Committee of USA Swimming. The Sharks offer training and practice groups for all levels of swimmers. It is the goal of the Sharks to offer age specific training for all of our athletes geared towards developing each individual to the best of their abilities.

How to Register
Registration for tryouts and for the team takes place through the Department of Parks and Recreation Parks Direct system. If you already have an Parks Direct account, then you can register online (click the program barcodes below) or in person at any Parks and Planning facility using the program barcode number. Prince George’s Parks & Recreation (PGPR) Select Levels September 2023 – May 2024 PLEASE NOTE: Swim practice days and times are subject to change. Please check with the coach for details.
Resident fee: (2022-2023) $848.00 Non-Resident fee: (2022-2023) $1103.00 Group 1- Green Swimmers that are six (6) to eight (8) years old. Practices will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays 5:30-6:30PM Group 2- White Swimmers that are nine and over. Practices will be held on Tuesday and Thursday (swimmers has choice of 3rd day Fri) Time 5:30PM-6:30PM · Level 2 AG3 is designed primarily for nine (9) to twelve (12) year olds with prior competitive swimming experience. The focus of this group is building upon prior swimming experiences through improving techniques and stroke and turns with the goal of qualifying for time standard meets. Swimmers must be able to commit to three (3) practices a week. Practices will be offered Monday- Friday Time 6:30-8:00PM Resident fee: (2022-2023) $958.00 Non-Resident fee: (2022-2023) $1246 · Level 3 (Senior Prep) is designed for eleven (11) to fourteen (14) year olds with competitive swimming experience. The focused qualify for the Potomac Valley Swimming (PVS) Short Course 14& under Champs (SC) Junior/Senior Championship. Swimmers must be able to commit to (4-5) practices a week. Monday through Friday Time 6:00PM-8:00 and Saturday 9:00-11:00AM (Invitation by head coach) Resident fee: (2022-2023) $1173.00 Non-Resident fee: (2022-2023) $1525.00 Level 4 (Senior) This group is for swimmers, ages 13 to 18, with competitive experience. This group is primarily designed for swimmers ready for a more competitive goal setting training. 5 to 6 practices per week. Monday through Friday Time 6:00-8:00 Saturday practices Time 9:00AM-11:00AM Resident fee: (2022-2023) $1233.00 Non-Resident fee: (2022-2023) $1603.00 Level 5 (Advance Senior/National) this group is for swimmers that have achieve PVS Senior/Junior Championship, Speedo Sectionals, Junior Nationals, Futures, Nationals qualifying times. Swimmers must be able to commit to a minimum of six (6) practices a week. PAYMENT PLANS (CLUB SEASON)
Money is NOT automatically deducted from credit cards, therefore, you must manually apply money to your Parks Direct account prior to each payment plan due date listed below. Late payments may restrict your swimmer from participating in practices and/or meets until the balance on the account is paid. Payment plans will be calculated based on the "prorated by program session" course fee.
