NOTE: Swimmers will be assigned to swim groups by the Coach. Coach may reassign swimmers at his/her discretion.

PRE-CAC (ages 8 & Younger)

The swimmer will build endurance and be introduced to back stroke and freestyle (crawl). Swimmer will not participate in competitions. Coaches will communicate at the end of the season if the swimmer will be advancing.

The swimmer at a minimum can:

  • Float on their front and back
  • Kick 25 yards (the length of the pool) on their stomach with a kickboard, and on their back without a kickboard.

     Graduation from Pre-CAC is dependent on the coach's discretion and the swimmer's ability to complete the following:

  • Swim 25 yards freestyle with regular side breathing and no aid
  • Swim 25 yards backstroke with feet near the surface and no aid
  • Kick 25 yards with butterfly kick
  • Kick 25 yards breaststroke kick
  • Streamline push off wall with kicking

BLUE GROUP (Ages 12 & younger)

The swimmer will be learning the techniques required to master the four competitive strokes. Swimmer will participate in competitions but is not required. Coaches will communicate at the end of the season if the swimmer will be advancing.

  • Freestyle with side breath
  • Backstroke with a steady kick just under the surface
  • Breaststroke 1 pull / 2 kick Br arms
  • Butterfly with 2 dolphin kicks

GOLD GROUP (Ages 8 & older)

The swimmer is confident in the four strokes and demonstrate a readiness to focus on a training program. The swimmer is continuing to build endurance.
