Michael Grabowy

With over 20 years of coaching experience, I’ve had the privilege of working with athletes at every level—from YMCA Nationals and USA Swimming to high school teams and Special Olympics. Most recently, I’ve been coaching with the Holly City Sharks summer swim team.

My coaching philosophy is rooted in creating the best possible experience for each individual athlete. I believe in developing well-rounded swimmers—both in and out of the pool—by fostering a strong team culture, encouraging personal growth, and supporting our community through service and events.

Our team includes a diverse spectrum of athletes, each with unique goals. I’m not a "cookie-cutter" coach; instead, I adapt my approach to meet the needs of each swimmer, finding the techniques and strategies that help them thrive. My mission is to help every athlete reach their full potential while building a positive, inclusive, and empowering swim culture.

I have been helping coach the Holly City Sharks Team for the past 4 summers, where I volunteer coached during my last few years swimming then transitioned into assistant coaching. I began swimming at the age of 3 with Holly City and instantly fell in love with the sport and the swim family. I later swam winter for the YMCA and lastly for the Millville High School team where I was captain my senior year. Being a part of many teams, I can say that I truly value the family dynamic and see the impact team unity has on swimmer success. There is nothing better than seeing our 15-18s supporting the 6 & under swimmers. I am currently attending Rowan University, majoring in Early Childhood Education. I am thrilled to be coaching alongside the coaches who have taught me so much and I can not wait to see what this season and the future of Tiger Sharks has in store!

I have been swimming competitively for the past 12 years for both summer and winter leagues, including 4 years with the VHS Boys Swim Team and served as the captain during my senior year.  I have volunteered my time as a junior coach and look forward to moving into an assistant coach position. I pride myself on building a positive environment while promoting good sportmanship and encouraging all athletes be the best they can be.

I am happy to introduce myself as a Millville Tiger Shark swim coach. I have swam my entire life and fell in love with the sport at a young age. My coaching experience varies, I have coached Millville summer swim team for 5 years and head coach of the Millville High School swim team for the past 8 years.  I am excited to take on this next journey and grow as a coach. Not only do we as a coaching staff teach our young swimmers to swim competitively using proper technique, but we instil core values and life lessons. Swimming is a life long sport that not only challenges you physically but also mentally. We as coaches always consider ourselves more than just that...a coach. We built our program from the ground up and promote ourselves as a family, because that is what we are. I am honored to be apart of this coaching staff and look forward to working with everyone.

 Michele Taylor
Welcome! I’m Coach Taylor, and I’m excited to officially join the Tiger Sharks coaching staff! I began swimming competitively almost 30 years ago at Madden’s Swim Club and have been a part of many local swim teams including Holly City Swim Club, Dolphin Swim Club, Vineland YMCA, and Millville High School. In my junior and senior years, I was the head coach of Holly City Swim Club. Then after high school, I went on to swim at the collegiate level for The College of New Jersey (TCNJ). Swimming has always been an important part of my life, and I still swim for fun and compete at local Master’s meets. I’m currently in my 14th year of elementary teaching, so coaching gives me the opportunity to continue my love for the sport and my love for working with kids of all ages. Fun fact - Coach Mike coached my husband and me, and he now coaches our two kids on the Tiger Sharks team! There is nothing better than our swim family!

I began swimming at the age of 8 and quickly fell in love with the sport. Over the years, swimming has taught me discipline, resilience, and the value of lifelong friendships. My passion for the sport eventually led me to coaching, and in 2024 began working with both the Millville Tiger Sharks Swim Team and the Holly City Swim Club. My goal as a coach is to help swimmers not only improve their technique, but also grow as individuals.  Swimming develops more than just speed and endurance- it builds confidence, teamwork, and life skills that extend far beyond the pool. I strive to create a positive and supportive environment where swimmers of all ages can challenge themselves, celebrate their progress, and feel proud to be part of the team.
I am excited to continue this journey, share what I've learned, and watch our swimmers thrive in the seasons ahead.
