Midland Dolphins Swim Team,
Congratulations to the swimmers that went to Standish on Saturday. I have all the awards. They will be passed out at all practices starting tomorrow.
We have a lot of USA meets coming up. You will see a list of team hotels near the bottom of this email. Start making your hotel reservations.
BRONZE 2 VOLUNTEERS NEEDED TOMORROW
I am looking for some parents to sort all the awards at Bronze 2 practice tomorrow. If you are able to help, please send me an email.
BREASTSTROKE PRACTICE TOMORROW FOR BLUE 2 AND BLUE 1
Coach Sammy, Coach Mya and Coach Kendra are going to get in the water and work with small groups on their breaststroke kick! If possible, do not miss practice tomorrow. (Bronze 1, I am working on a date to do this at one of your practices).
LAST CHANCE UNO MEET – Wednesday, January 28
This is still a tentative date and time. I have NOT gotten final approval that we can have this meet. I am going to send an entry file in case it is approved. If it is not, then the file gets delated.
- This meet is ONLY for the swimmers that need a second meet to attend the February 7 and/or February 15 Championship meet.
- This meet is ONLY for the swimmers that are very close to getting a championship time to attend the meet on February 15.
- This meet DOES NOT replace practice. We will follow our normal Wednesday practice schedule.

Individual Entry Limits
Swimmers may swim up to 3 individual events and 1 relay or 2 individual events and 2 relays (i.e., a total of 4 events is allowed).
You may register for the events you want to swim, however the coaches may make changes due to spreading kids throughout different events to maximize points scored.
Admissions
Admission is $5.00 for all day admission
10 & under children are free
Meet Programs
A meet program will be available for $5.00
Scoring
A team score will be kept. The top 12 individual finishers and the top 12 relay teams in each age division will be scored as follows (only one relay per team may score):
Individual Events: 16, 13, 12, 11, 10, 9, 7, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1
Relays: 32, 26, 24, 22, 20, 18, 14, 10, 8, 6, 4, 2
Awards
For both individual and relay awards, medals will be awarded for 1st-8th place. Relay medals will be awarded to all participating relay teams, even if the relay does not score. Awards will be presented to the top 8 finishers on the podium in between events.

$5 per individual event
The Dolphins will pay for relays
Surcharges
$1 per athlete Michigan Swimming athlete surcharge applies for all registered swimmers even if you are not a USA swimmer
$10 Dolphin surcharge

Individual Entry Limits
Swimmers may enter up to four (4) individual events and (1) relay event per day. An entry in the 1650 will NOT count towards your daily entry limit but will count towards USA swimming’s (6) maximum allowable individual events per day.

MIDLAND DOLPHINS SWIM TEAM BANQUET – Monday, April 13
The Dolphins have a swim banquet once a year. The banquet highlights our swimmers during the long course (summer) and short course (fall/winter) seasons. At the banquet we recognize EVERY SWIMMER. Even if they did not attend any meets. The banquet is held at the Midland Country Club and is for the whole family. This is truly a big deal for our team and the swimmers look forward to it every year.
