Coaches do not always have extra caps and goggles to borrow. Packing your swim bag the night before helps stay organized. Practice equipment Each practice swimmers will use kickboards and fins. Swimmers at Northeast will also use paddles, pull buoys and snorkels. The Dolphins have gear at GMCC for swimmers to borrow. All swimmers are expected to own their own gear at NE. If you have any questions email the head coach. WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF A SWIM CAP AND DO I NEED TO WEAR ONE? While some swimmers might think swim caps are uncomfortable, the benefits they provide a swimmer far outweigh the disadvantages that come with them. Protects Your Hair The chemicals in the pool are notorious for damaging hair. Turning your smooth, silky hair into something thick and straw-like. You can spot a swimmer just by looking at their hair! Keeps Hair Out of the Pool Nothing is worse than getting someone else’s hair caught in your fingers or on your face. Or having a hairball in your lane! Prevents Hair from Getting in Your Face Those that have long hair must wear a swim cap. A swim cap helps keep your hair out of your face when you swim. This not only helps you see better and know where you’re going. It also helps you breathe easier. Trying to take in a breath around a mouthful of wet hair isn’t the best. It’s also really gross for you. lol Helps Your Fans (Parents) Spot You in the Pool The Midland Dolphin have a royal blue team cap. This cap is required to be worn at swim meets. So wearing a cap at swim practice is great practice for wearing a swim cap at swim meets. I do have some latex caps for sale. The cost is $5. Cash or check payable to Midland Dolphins.
