📝 USA Swimming Registration Instructions

IMPORTANT:
In previous seasons, MMA handled USA Swimming registrations and charged your account.
That process has changed—families are now responsible for registering and paying for USA Swimming memberships directly.

🆕 New Members:

Please wait until after September 1, 2025 to register.
The system will not allow registrations before that date.

🏊 Why This Matters

• Every swimmer on the team MUST be registered with USA Swimming.

• This is separate from your MMA team account.

• USA Swimming provides aquatic insurance, and all fees go directly to them.

• You must register for a Premium Athlete membership to swim with MMA.

🔢 Step-by-Step Registration Instructions

STEP 1: Create Your USA Swimming Account

• Visit this link: USA Swimming Registration Portal

• Click "Create a Login"

• This is a brand new system—everyone must create a new account (even returning families)

• You only need one account per family

• Use the same email you use for your MMA account, if possible

• Check your email for a confirmation link to verify your account

STEP 2: Account Setup

• After email verification, the system will ask:

  “Have you been a member of USA Swimming before?”

  • Select "No" (even if your child has been a member—you’re answering for yourself as the parent)

STEP 3: Pause Here!

• After creating the account, you can briefly explore the platform—though there won’t be much to see yet.

• DO NOT continue registering on the USA Swimming site.

• LOG OUT and return to this MMA instruction page.

STEP 4: Connect to MMA

• Use this link: Join Mid-Michigan Aquatics
  (This connects your new account to our team)

• Log in with the account you just created

• Choose "Register Member" for your first swimmer, and then if needed, "Add Family Member" for additional swimmers

STEP 5: Register Your Swimmer

• When asked, "Who is the membership for?"

  • Choose: “I am registering my Child”

STEP 6: Create an account for your swimmer

• Fill out the information and progress through the steps

• When you get to Membership Type:

  • Select: Premium Athlete

• Continue through the form until you reach the summary page

• Pay the USA registration fee

✅ STEP 7: Bookmark Your USA Swimming Account

Save your login! You'll use this account throughout the season for:

• Verifying membership

• Accessing insurance information

• Registering for future seasons
