New Parent Information

On behalf of the Edina Swim Club (ESC) Board of Directors, we would like to welcome you to ESC!  We are so happy to have you join our team!  We realize that as new members you may have questions concerning the way everything works and we would like to make that transition as easy as possible.  We have many people here to help answer any questions or concerns you may have.  We realize that it can be a bit confusing (and maybe even overwhelming) at the beginning of your membership so please do not hesitate to contact any of us.

Team Philosophy
Edina Swim Club has a comprehensive program for all ages of the family, from our summer swim lessons to our adult master’s team.  Everyone counts and everyone is counted on to make Edina Swim Club, the best TEAM that it can be. There is value to each team member. Our goal is to maximize the swimming potential in each swimmer.  All swimmers are expected to come to practice with a positive spirit, and be ready to have fun and be challenged at the appropriate level. Even the goal of learning a new skill in Gator I can be a challenge to take on and to achieve, just as the older swimmers have goals of reaching Olympic and Collegiate levels.

As coaches we are partners with parents to teach life skills such as discipline, courage, independence, teamwork, and work ethic through the sport of swimming.

Goals & Mission
Our goal each season is to have all swimmers be part of our TEAM, improve their swimming, and through the sport of swimming, gain values and life skills that will carry them beyond the pool.

Each swimmer should be striving throughout a season to reach the highest level possible, from our newest swimmers at C finals to our senior swimmers at Junior and Senior Nationals.  Our primary goal for Edina Swim Club as a TEAM is to reach the highest level possible in the Region, the State and the Nation. This is done in many ways, including USA Swimming Virtual Club Championship, and our own Regional and State Championships and National level meets.
