The Muskies Swim Club offers training and practice groups for swimmers of all ages and ability levels. It is the goal of the Muskies Swim Club here to offer age specific training for all of our athletes geared towards challenging each individual and developing each individual to the best of THEIR abilities.

Little Swimmers

Group Criteria: Must be at least 4 years old and able to swim independently 25 yards in one stroke(passing level 3 swimming lessons preferred).

Group Focus: Freestyle and Backstroke (head position, body position, kick, introduce arms), Introduce body dolphin, Introduce breaststroke kick

Coach: Jennifer Fearing

Workout Days/Times: 1x/wk; 45 minutes

Advanced Little Swimmers

Group Criteria: Must have passed Little Swimmers.

Group Focus: Freestyle and Backstroke (head position, body position, kick, introduce arms), Introduce body dolphin, Introduce breaststroke kick

Coach: Jennifer Fearing

Workout Days/Times: 1x/wk; 45 minutes

Junior Competitors 1

Group Criteria: Able to swim 50 yards freestyle and 50 yards backstroke.

Group Focus: Freestyle and Backstroke (head position, body position, kick, arms), Fly(body dolphin), Breaststroke (kick and timing)

Workout Days/Times: 3-4x/wk; 60 minutes

Competitors

Group Criteria: Able to swim a legal 100 IM in under 2:00, Demonstrates competency in Junior Competitors 2 focus points.

Group Focus: Continue Junior 2 skills, Starts and turns for all strokes, Butterfly and Breaststroke, Introduce sets and pace clock, Strongly encouraged to compete at meets

Workout Days/Times: 3-4x/wk; 60 minutes


 

Silver Competitors

Group Criteria: Able to swim 200 IM in under 3:20 and 100 IM in under 1:35, Demonstrates competency in Competitors focus points, 10x50 Freestyle @1:00 (demonstrates consistent workout ability and motivation)

Group Focus: Continue Competitors skills, Introduce race pace training, Get Faster, Expected to compete at meets

Workout Days/Times:4-5x/wk; 60-120 minutes

Gold/Elite Competitors

Group Criteria: Able to swim 200 IM in under 2:50 and 100 IM in under 1:20, Demonstrates competency in Silver focus points, 10x100 @1:40 (demonstrates consistent workout ability and motivation)

Group Focus: Continue Silver skills, Goal setting, Race pace training at goal times, Expected to compete at meets

Workout Days/Times: 4-5x/wk; 90-120 minutes
