Cheryl Switzer Coach-Rattlesnakes/Copperheads/USA

Disco! My name is Coach Cheryl!

I have been swimming ALL of my life, really! My mother was a swimming instructor and when we moved to Lake Stockholm, NJ I joined the swim team at six years old. I swam for the then Stockholm Sea Serpents (they changed the name to Dolphins) until I aged out at 18 years old. I was an Aqua Gem swimmer in the Metro for many years. I also swam for West Morris YMCA.I was the only swimmer in my High School, I wore my West Morris Swimmer jacket proudly! When I graduated, I went into the field of insurance. Soon after I met, Steve and we married and had four children.Life, kids, DR. appointments, summer swim and baseball practice and all that life stuff kept me busy, but they grew up and then I needed a job! What to do? Well, the only thing I actually understood and was good at: Swimming! So, I went back and started with my Lifeguard certification, then got my WSI (Water Safety Instructor) and have been adding more; Lifeguard Instructor, etc.….When I obtained my WSI, Coach Z immediately asked me to become an Assistant Coach for the DV Water Moccasins Swim Team. A dream, I dreamed, finally came true! I was a COACH! Swimmer to Coach. How cool is that!I love coaching! The swimmers are great and I love to teach them. Watching them place a snake in the Snake Pit to a record breaker, all of the accomplishments these swimmers achieve make me say: AWESOME! (Hi 5) and of course DISCO!!!

Becca Riddlehoover Coach-Mambas/Vipers

Hello, my name is Coach Becca and I began swimming in a local recreational swim league, and from the very start I was hooked! I always had a passion for the water—so much so that finding a pool became a family vacation requirement. At 14 years old, I began teaching swimming lessons to individuals of all ages and ability levels, and I quickly realized how much I loved sharing my knowledge of the sport.

Throughout high school, I swam for the Delaware Valley varsity team while continuing to teach lessons after practices. In the summers, I returned to the league that started it all, working as an assistant coach and encouraging the next generation of swimmers to fall in love with the sport the same way I had.

When I got to college, my focus was clear—I wanted to help people. I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science, specializing in professional therapeutics, where I studied everything from exercise physiology to kinesiology and strength & conditioning. And of course, I was still in the pool teaching swim lessons! After graduating, I expanded my expertise by becoming a NASM Certified Personal Trainer, allowing me to combine my knowledge of swimming with a deeper understanding of fitness, movement, and performance.

Now, with over 10 years of coaching experience, I’ve had the privilege of working with swimmers and athletes of all ages and abilities. My coaching style blends evidence-based practices with enthusiasm and encouragement. Whether teaching water safety, refining stroke technique, or supporting competitive athletes, I love seeing swimmers gain confidence, achieve their goals, and discover what they’re truly capable of. Coaching allows me to bring together my passion for swimming and my dedication to helping others succeed—and that’s what makes it so rewarding!

Riley Hunt Coach-Boas/Pythons

Hi! My name is Coach Riley, and I’ve been swimming since I was 10 years old. I spent five years as a member of the Delaware Valley Water Moccasins, where my love for swimming all began. I’m now in my fourth year on the Delaware Valley varsity swim team, where I continue to challenge myself and grow as both a swimmer and a captain. For the past two summers, I’ve had the privilege of coaching young swimmers in my community. I helped them strengthen their skills, gain confidence, and find joy in the water. I look forward to continuing my role for a third summer next year. Returning to the Water Moccasins as a coach feels especially meaningful to me, as this team shaped so much of who I am today. My goal is to create a positive, encouraging environment where every swimmer feels supported, motivated, and inspired to reach their full potential both in water and beyond.

Damien Roche Coach-Boas/Mambas/Pythons/Vipers

Hi, my name is Coach Damien.

I am a strength and conditioning coach who has been helping clients swim easier and lead more fulfilling lives since the '90s. I grew up on the coast so swimming and water activities have been an integral part of becoming who I am today. As a teenager I began working as a pool lifeguard, before adding beach guard, swim instructor, water safety instructor to my roles. Becoming a personal trainer was a natural next step in helping clients improve. Since then I have spent almost 25 years coaching teams, groups and individuals. Helping people achieve more than they think is possible is so gratifying. When they build, and own the confidence to tackle daunting challenges, in their sport, it's very rewarding to see them also apply that to their lives outside of sport too.

I am very excited to be part of your swim team family, and I am looking forward to making a positive impact.
