Our Families Rise to the Challenge, Swimmers Bring home big Iron at Age Groups

With only 69 of our swimmers entered into the Age Group Champs North we needed tons of help to run the meet.  The call went out and our families responded in a big way making this meet the most succesful Age Group Champ North meet in the past few years.   The compliments and thanks from other teams came in througought the weekend.    Special thanks is due to parents who came in to work sessions even though they didn't have a swimmer in the meet.  A huge debt of gratitude is due to the NY Sharks Parents (Patsy Burke - Kathleen Cullinan - Lisa Kenny - Diane Iorizzo - Helen Shaw) who manned our computers for the entire meet and used their expertise to keep things running smoothly.

It wasn't just the parents who were on a mission of success.  Although their numbers were few, our swimmers performed as if they were a team unto themselves, amassing a whopping 190 personal best swims, 124 Silver swims, 6 JO swims and 3 Zone Qual swims.

Several swimmers decided to accept nothing less than perfection:  Sarah Fitzsimmons went 8 for 8, Jonathan Huang went 7 for 7, Devin Guardino and Guilia Schiavi both went 4 for 4.

We had quite a number of near perfect efforts as well: Aditi Athavale 7 for 8, Molly Balow 7 for 10, Ally Fitzsimmons 6 for 8, Arianna Lopez 9 for 11, TC McCaffery 5 for 6 and Isabella Wood 6 for 8.

Congratulations for new JO and Zone Qualifying swims:  Kassey Gonzalez ZQ 200 Back, Devin Guardino JO 100 Free & 50 Back, Marc Piliero ZQ 500 Free and Blair Wegescheide ZQ 100 Back

This was a fitting end to a very successful Short Course Season.  The Coaching Staff of the Patriot Swim Team wishes to express heartfelt thanks and congratulations to all our swimmers and families for their support and committment.
