Patriot Holiday Party Recap

The merger between Big Blue and the West Point Swim Club is barely 16 months old but so much has been accomplished.  Monday night's Holiday party demonstrated why we have been doing so well.   The Sense of family and togetherness was fun to behold.   The swimmers danced the night away and it was apparent from the way they interconnected that we are one big Patriot Team.

Our parents did an amazing job making our "Pot Luck" into a gourmet feast with just one amazing dish after another.  Our swimmers are talented but their parents also showed tremendous talent, creating an international spread of never ending flavors and textures that made it impossible for us to not enjoy seconds and thirds.

Once again, DJ Pete did a wonderful job and the kids had a great time sporting their "Tacky Holiday Sweaters" for the contest.   Congratulations to the prize winners.

Congratulations to Bob Vializ, winner of the Ipad 2.  Thanks to Rita Piliero who did the ticket mixing and Marley Lazo-Murphy who chose the winning ticket.   Marley was the top raffle seller, selling $500 worth of raffles.  She won a private lesson with Coach Edgar for her fabulous efforts.

A very special thanks to Linda Portch, who conceived and planned this great event, and thanks to the many Beacon parents and swimmers who assisted in setting up.

In April,  we will be having our Team Banquet to celebrate the successes of the short course and to Honor our Graduating Seniors.  Date and Location will be announced shortly.
