Help Needed Regarding CDC Pool Regulation Proposals
Please Submit Public Comment to Proposed CDC Pool Regulations
After last season's minimum depth adjustment to 4 feet, enacted by USA-Swimming, 1,100 pools became unusable for holding swim meets. With the CDC proposed minimum depth, which is overkill, many more pools in US will become “too shallow” for swim meets or for practicing starts during swim practice, and starting blocks must be permanently removed. Last year, USA Swimming went to 4feet as a minimum starting depth. According to USA Swimming, Risk Management Insurance, there have been 0 bottom strikes since going to that depth.
Please take a few moments and provide feedback to the CDC on these two issues. The new air quality standards are a good thing but the minimum depth requirement is not. Public comment is only open for a few more weeks, so do it today!
