Patriots Cross "Speed Borders" at the International Meet
About 100 yards from the beach, teams from 7 countries and 13 US states gathered at the Hall of Fame Pool for the last meet to be held here before it is closed, demolished and a new, modern facility is built. All of the swimmers did great honor to the facility by swimming fast.
The event was great and the venue was awesome. The bonding between swimmers, parents and coaches was excellent. On Saturday night, 40 of us got together at Bubba Gumps and showed why our team is enjoying such wonderful success, a sincere sense of community and unwavering support for swimmer and team.
The effect of that support showed. For the second meet in a row, our swimmers have far exceeded expectations and accumulated surprising statistics for a small group. 15 swimmers achieved 1Super Sectional qualifying swim, 18 Senior Met Qualifying swims, 4 Zone Team Qualifying swims, 86 Junior Olympic Qualifying swims, 15 Beacon Records, 18 Peekskill Records, 24 Patriot Records and 90 Personal Bests. It was exciting to watch our swimmers set new personal bests in the morning, make finals and swim even faster at night.
The Coaching Staff would like to extend a most sincere thank you to the swimmers and their parents for a truly fun and amazing trip.
