Stephani Gonzalez is the Head Coach of Swim Columbus.  She has served as the Swim Columbus Head Coach since the beginnning of 2018.  She also works for the Columbus YMCA downtown.

In her time as Head Coach she has had multiple swimmers win individual state titles, become state record holders, and qualify for 2021 Southern Zones.  She was awarded Mississippi Age Group Coach of the Year for the 2019-2020 season.  

Stephani began swimming at age 3 and grew up in Mississippi Swimming.  Stephani was a swimmer growing up competing for the Falcon Aquatic Swim Team, Mississippi Aquatic Dog Fish, and the expansion Shockwave Aquatics when the team debuted in 2000.  Stephani was state champion in both short & long course seasons throughout her entire swimming career.  She also raced cross country and track in high school.  She also has a brother & sister, Robert Paul & Jessica, who were both state record holders in the pool as well.

Coach Stephani attended Delta State University and was a Lady Statesmen on the Swimming & Diving Roster.  To complete her swimming career she swam five lifetime best times in 2011-2012 and was Named to the All-NSISC team.  Stephani graduated with a bachelor's degree in Excercise Science from Delta State University.

When not at work, Stephani loves to travel & is an avid work out queen.  She has 4 fur babies at home that keep her company.
