The Hardin Otter Swim Team (HOT) is a competitive Age-Group swim team with affiliations in Montana Swimming (LSC), and USA Swimming.  The Hardin Otter Swim Team's mission is to empower strong and healthy swimmers by encouraging individual excellence and team unity.  Our mascot is a river otter.

Any child interested in competitive swimming with the necessary swimming skills may become a swim team member. Our coaches require that the child must be able to swim 25 yards of freestyle in a comfortable manner: we will then take that basic skill and shape it into more refined swimming strokes and your child will become part of a great team.

The swim season runs October-February. HOT practices are as follows: Monday thru Thursday 3:45-5:00 at the Hardin Community Activity Center (HCAC).   We host two meets during the swim season.

Our registration fee for 2023-24 season is $140, with a $40 discount for additional siblings ($100).  High school swimmers may join the Otters for a pre-season kickoff for $50 before the Bulldog season begins.

Parents or guardians are required to join the "Parent Team."  The Parent Team provides vital support to HOT, including hosting our home meets which are our main fundraiser. Every Parent is needed!  The minimum required volunteer time is two half days at each home meet; however, much more than that is needed, so we hope you will be willing to put your gifts and abilities to work to benefit all our  youth!  To "Keep our Otters in the Water" we need:  a parent board (meets monthly during swim season and once or twice in the off season), swimming officials, a concessions co-ordinator and volunteers, a hospitality room coordinator, 1-2 timing console operators, 1-2 computer operators, 2-5 swimming officials, a head timer, an anouncer, and lane timers.  Our registration fees do not cover our team expenses-- our swimmers need your time and effort to stay afloat.
