A final note from Sy's parents:

Good morning, all, Sy and Allison made it back to Montana Friday without issue. I drove Sy back to Augustana Saturday. Thank you to everyone for helping make this opportunity possible. We appreciate each one of you! Take care and have a great holiday season and a prosperous 2026!

My wife, Alison, wrote a short paragraph summarizing the trip!

After 7,550 competitive meters in six days, earning Silver and Bronze in the men's 4x100 and 4x200 relays. The last day of finals, after just missing the podium in the 200 Fly with a 2:07, and then swimming another 1500 mile final, "The BEAST" Syler Pizzolato earned his place and The Gold for USA with a 57 split in the Fly in the Men's Medley Relay! (** With the Emperor of Japan in attendance! Royalty got to see my baby take Gold!☺️

Beyond grateful for all Sy's teammates and families, coaches, USA Deaf Swimming organizers; volunteers, supporters, and the host county of Japan for hosting an unforgettable 25th Deaflympics!!

A lot to be thankful for on this "extra long" Thanksgiving Day! Thank you, Mike

November 24 -- WOW! The final night of competition in Tokyo did not disappoint. Sy ended up taking Gold in the 4 x 100 medley relay for team USA! Placed 4th in the world for his 200 fly only missing a Bronze medal by 1/2 second in a tight race to the finish and placing 7th in the world in the 1500m (The Mile) These are grueling races and competing against the best in the world and the fact that he excels in every stroke is reward for his hard work and determination to the sport. Thank you to all Syler’s friends, family, followers, teammates, mentors, and coworkers for all your support over the years. Now on to closing ceremonies and some down time in Tokyo! Congrats to Syler and Team USA!

Swimming before the Japanese Emperor and Family -- Cool ending!  Matt won a silver tonight and the relay won gold and the Emperor  and his family were there to cheer the swimmers on!

Sy had a phenomenal night of swimming in Tokyo. Finishing 4th in the world in the 200 fly, 7th in the world in the 1500 and taking Gold 🥇 in the 4x100 medley relay.
What a day and all this racing in front of the Emperor!
Now a couple days to enjoy Tokyo and take in the closing ceremony.
Way to go Sy and Team USA.

November 21 -- Sy had a great night last night racing in the 200 Freestyle and the 200 Backstroke. He was able to accomplish Personal Best times in both those events!
9th place in the 200 Free, he was only 1 spot behind making Finals as they take the Top 8. Either way I am sure he appreciated the night of rest.
Tonight, he has the 100 Freestyle and the 800 Freestyle.
Lots of great competition as it should be a good night of racing.
