Pandas - $100/month

Monday-Thursday | 6:00-7:00 PM Swim

  • Primarily 8 and unders, but a max age of 12.
  • This group is for novice swimmers that will receive an introduction to competitive swimming.
  • The four competitive strokes – Butterfly, Backstroke, Breaststroke, and Freestyle must be known before a swimmer is able to join this group.
  • The four competitive strokes will be improved. Proper body position, kicking and stroke technique development are all a focus of this group. Swimming skills, such as starts/turns/finishes/etc., will also be developed. 
  • Understanding of basic swimming set structure and clock usage will be taught.

PRACTICE ATTENDANCE: Swimmers will be encouraged to attend at least 50% of practices.

MEET ATTENDANCE: Swimmers will be encouraged to attend meets hosted locally.

Cubs - $100/month

Monday-Thursday | 6:00-7:00 PM Swim

  • 9-12 years of age OR 8 may be considered with MV LSC Championship cut times.
  • This Group will continue to focus on the foundation of stroke technique, starts and turns that were developed in the Pandas Group.
  • Swimmers in the Cubs will be introduced to the basics of learning interval training as they work to take what they have learned and apply it in a more challenging practice setting that includes longer swimming distances.
  • Swimmers will understand set structure and clock management.
  • Swimmers will be introduced to test sets, new drills, and the MSA Development Skills

PRACTICE ATTENDANCE: Swimmers will be encouraged to attend all 4 practices a week, with a minimum of 3.

MEET ATTENDANCE: Swimmers will be encouraged to attend meets hosted locally and meets outside of town.  Swimmers in this group will be STRONGLY ENCOUREGED to attend any Championship level meet they are qualified for. (MV Districts, Championships)

  • 11-14 year olds OR 10 year olds with MV Championship Cut times may be considered.
  • Swimmers will be further introduced to the concept of becoming a better person, not just a better swimmer.
  • This group will begin a furthered focus on more advanced swimming techniques.
  • Training, conditioning, and more advanced set structure will be introduced.
  • An emphasis will be placed on a great commitment to swimming.  This will include, but is not limited to:
  • Attending a higher percentage of practices
  • Having a positive attitude with themselves and their teammates
  • Consistent effort
  • Developing a sense of competitiveness
  • Swimmers will be introduced to better nutritional habits
  • The MSA Development Skills will be emphasized and expanded upon to give the swimmers the base of skills necessary to advance to the Senior level groups.

PRACTICE ATTENDANCE: Swimmers will be expected to attend a minimum of 75% of practices.

MEET ATTENDANCE: Swimmers will be expected to attend meets hosted locally and meets in the region designated for them.  Swimmers in this group will be REQUIRED to attend any Championship level meet they are qualified for. (MV Districts, MV Championships, Zones, etc.)

  • Must demonstrate to the coaching staff an understanding/maturity of the mental, emotional, social, and physical expectations required of a senior level group.
  • GOALS OF THIS GROUP ARE/BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
    • Having a continued understanding of what it takes to become a better person
    • Having a continued understanding of what it takes to become a better swimmer with the goal of achieving LSC Championships and Sectionals level time standards.
    • An understanding of the MSA Development Skill Set
    • Be able to evaluate their own and their peers swimming
    • A further commitment to the sport of swimming
    • Better nutrition will be emphasized
    • Strength/Athletic Development will be introduced to provide a foundation for continued growth in the future

PRACTICE ATTENDANCE: Swimmers will be expected to attend 5 practices a week.

MEET ATTENDANCE: Swimmers will be expected to compete in the meets designated for them.  Swimmers in this group will be REQUIRED to attend any Championship level meet they are qualified for. (MV Districts, MV Championships, Zones, Sectionals, etc.)

  • Must be at least a Freshman in High School.
  • Minimum MV 13-14 Championship Cut Times.
  • Must demonstrate to the coaching staff an understanding/maturity of the mental, emotional, social, and physical expectations required of an elite senior level group.
  • Swimming is the PRIMARY extra-curricular activity with the focus on advanced training to compete at national level meets (Sectionals, Futures, Jr. Nationals, Nationals, Olympic Trials) with the goal of competing at the college level.
  • This group will be expected to commit to improving not only themselves and their team, but also the swimming community as a whole.  Swimmers will want to achieve and leave a positive, lasting legacy.
  • Swimmers will know and execute the MSA Development Skill Set
  • This group will be able to dissect and talk rationally about their own and others swimming.
  • This group will be committed to the sport of swimming.

PRACTICE ATTENDANCE: Swimmers will rarely miss practice.  Attendance: 90%

MEET ATTENDANCE: Swimmers will compete in the meets designated for them.  Swimmers in this group will be REQUIRED to attend any Championship level meet they are qualified for. (MV Championships, Sectionals, Futures, Jr. Nationals, Nationals)
