Hastings YMCA Aquatic Club has a long tradition in Hastings, Nebraska. We are a competitive swim team affiliated with YMCA Swimming through Nebraska YMCA League and with USA Swimming through the local governing swimming committee, Midwestern Swimming, which includes most of Nebraska and parts of Iowa. We are proud to be part of the YMCA community programs and strongly believe in and uphold its principles, promoting youth development, healthy living and encouraging social responsibility. 

  We are dedicated to promoting swimming as a lifelong sport, and help our members reach their maximum athletic potential,  but also developing young athletes into the best individuals they can be; we believe that lessons learned in and around the pool will be useful to them throughout their lives. We offer age group development as well as Masters swimming. 

  As YMCA affiliated and USA Swimming affiliated club, our swimmers are YMCA and USAS members. Y- only membership is available. Our coaches are certified by USA Swimming and YMCA Swimming and seek the highest excellence standards through the American Swimming Coaches Association.  As YMCA and USA swimming member club, all coaches and certified officials of the team have completed athlete protection training courses and background checks required to assure the safety of the sport. 

 There are two seasons of competitive swimming:

  The SHORT COURSE season - we train and compete in 25 yard length pools, typically September through end of March. We participate in both YMCA meets and USA swimming meets. Athletes that qualify go to Midwestern Short Course Championship and YMCA Championship. 

  The LONG COURSE season- we train in both pools from April or May until end of July and competition is typically in 50 meter length pools. This is USA Swimming competition and athletes that qualify go to Midwestern Long Course Championship, and Zones. 

  The billing and registration, as well as home meet setup and team functions are handled by  SOS Swim Hastings, the parent group organization.
