New Year's Day Swim Challenge

SCSC Junior Group & Masters Swimmers-

Many of you already know, or your swimmers may know about our New Year’s Day Swim Challenge on January 1, 2024! This event is open to all junior group swimmers and masters team members.

 

Date: Monday, January 1, 2024

Cost: $10 per swimmer

Warmups: 12:35-12:50

Challenge begins at 1:00 SHARP – NO LATE STARTS

Please plan for this to take approximately 3.5 hours.

 

For junior swimmers: coaches will place you in either 100 x 100’s on the 1:30 or 1:40; or in 100 x 75’s on the 1:30 or 1:40.

 

For masters: during registration, please select which interval/distance you would like to swim – we can change what you are swimming later, this is to help give us an idea ahead of time for lane spacing. Masters can choose from 100 x 100’s, 100 x 75’s or 100 x 50’s.

 

Swim details:

  • ALL swimmers will be able to wear fins if/when needed
  • We will take a break halfway through the set (after the 50th swim) to briefly rest, and during this time may move swimmers to a different lane/set if needed

 

The deadline to register and receive a shirt is Thursday, December 14 at midnight. The deadline to register to participate is 8:00pm 12/31/23 - if you are unsure if you will be able to attend, we will leave the registration form open until 8:00pm on December 31, 2023.

 

We encourage all juniors and masters to participate in this event! It will not be easy but is a great way to challenge yourself!
